The event was organized at the invitation of David Banjerdpongchai from the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering. Chulalongkorn University was recently ranked as the No.1 university in Thailand by Times Higher Education (THE), both in the World University Rankings for 2025/2026 and in the Asia University Rankings for 2025.

The lecture delivered by the guests from the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” included a presentation of many of the activities related to the digitalization of education at the university, including the courses on “Block-Based Programming of Robots”, the summer “Robotics Academy” for children organized in 2025, the innovative teaching methods applied at the university, and the activities of the student team ElectRU, which competes in the international energy efficiency competition Shell Eco-Marathon, among others. After the scientific seminar, the Bulgarian delegation held a working meeting with David Banjerdpongchai, during which the activities of the ongoing cooperation between the University of Ruse and Chulalongkorn University were discussed. The guests from Ruse also held a meeting with Lunchakorn Wuttisittikulkij from the Telecommunications Systems Research Laboratory, as well as with members of his research group “Metaverses”, who presented their work to the Bulgarian visitors. Their research included developments in the fields of digital twins, the creation of augmented reality classrooms, the digitalization of cultural and historical heritage in Thailand, etc. Both sides discussed the possibility of including the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” in the international network of universities engaged in the development of digital twins in the field of education.
