On October 14, 2025, representatives from Huawei Technologies Bulgaria visited University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” for the official signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the university and Huawei regarding the “Robotilnitsa” project. The Memorandum aims to introduce young students to the world of technology and robotics starting from primary school.
The “Robotilnitsa” Project:
The “Robotilnitsa” project focuses on engaging 3rd and 4th grade students from 22 schools in Ruse in hands-on training to program and work with real robots. The goal is to foster digital skills and creative thinking among the students, in line with the priorities of Ruse Municipality in promoting STEM education and the natural sciences.
Signing the Memorandum of Cooperation:
The signing of the Memorandum between University of Ruse and Huawei Technologies Bulgaria was attended by:
- Mr. Kris Hu, Director of the Corporate Clients Division at Huawei;
- Mr. Ruslan Tsankov, Key Accounts Manager at Huawei Technologies Bulgaria;
- Ms. Raya Guncheva, Public Relations Manager at Huawei Technologies Bulgaria;
- Other representatives from Huawei Technologies Bulgaria Ltd.
Visit to the UNITe Center:
The Huawei representatives also visited the Center of Excellence UNITe (Project UNITe), which is part of the project BG16RFPR002-1.014-0004 and is funded by the “Research, Innovation, and Digitalization for Intelligent Transformation” Program (PNIIDIT) for 2021-2027, co-funded by the European Union.
At the UNITe Center, the guests were introduced to the main tasks, activities, and outcomes of the scientific research conducted by the center’s researchers. They also had the opportunity to explore specialized equipment in the center’s laboratories, including:
- 3D digitization
- Kinematics
- 3D printing
- 3D visualization
Support for STEM Education in Ruse:
The “Robotilnitsa” initiative aligns with Ruse Municipality’s priorities to enhance STEM education and support the development of digital and creative skills in students. Faculty members from the Department of Telecommunications, researchers involved in the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project, as well as instructors at CPULR-CUTNT-Ruse, will implement the project activities.
