On October 14, 2025, University of Ruse officially launched the “Robotilnitsa” project in a ceremony held in Hall 1 of the Kanev Center at the university. The project is a collaborative initiative between University of Ruse and Huawei Technologies Bulgaria, aiming to introduce children to the world of technology and robotics from an early age.
About the “Robotilnitsa” Project:
The “Robotilnitsa” project focuses on teaching 3rd and 4th grade students in 22 schools in Ruse how to program and work with real robots. Throughout the school year, students will participate in both theoretical and practical training sessions to develop skills in robotics, programming, and creative problem-solving.
The project supports the priorities of Ruse Municipality in the areas of STEM education, mathematics, and natural sciences, fostering the development of digital skills and creative thinking among students.
Memorandum of Cooperation:
During the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Assoc. Prof. Dr. Desislava Atanasova, the rector of University of Ruse, and Mr. Ruslan Tsankov, Key Accounts Manager at Huawei Technologies Bulgaria.

Contributions from University of Ruse:
The Department of Telecommunications, the Ruse Center for Educational and Technical Training and the UNITe Project will contribute to the project by jointly developing training materials for both teachers and students involved in the “Robotilnitsa” project.
Upcoming Events:
On October 25, 2025, the teacher training for IT teachers from the 22 participating schools will commence. These training sessions will take place at the CoE UNITe building at University of Ruse.
