On October 6, 2025, Prof. Mustafa Acarer (Professor at Selçuk University, Konya, Turkey, and Chairman of the Board of the Konya Technopark) and Canan Iyiopruk (Vice-Chairperson of the Technopark) visited University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” at the invitation of professors from the Department of Automation and Electronics.
Visit Program:
- Meeting with Assoc. Prof. Galina Ivanova:
- The guests were welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Galina Ivanova, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, who provided an introduction to the university’s structure, history, and core activities.
- Visit to University Labs:
- The guests had the opportunity to tour several halls and laboratories of University of Ruse, including an introduction to the “Future Education Space” concept, presented by Assoc. Prof. Alexander Ivanov.
- Research Complex Visit:
- The next stop was the Research Complex of the university, developed under the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of Bulgaria (Contract BG-RRP-2.013-0001).
- During the visit, the guests were introduced to the activities of researchers and scientists from the laboratories of NG 3.1.3: “Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems and Technologies for Generating and Visualizing Spatial Objects and Processes”, led by Prof. Georgi Hristov from the Telecommunications Department, and NG 3.1.2: “Sustainable Transport Mobility”, led by Prof. Ivan Beloev from the Transport Department.
- In these labs, the guests learned about robotic systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), remote monitoring systems, electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cell cars.
- Center of Excellence UNITe:
- In the afternoon, the Turkish guests visited the Center of Excellence UNITe, which was established through the UNITe Project (BG16RFPR002-1.014-0004), funded by the Program for Scientific Research, Innovation, and Digitalization for Intelligent Transformation (2021-2027), co-funded by the European Union.
- The guests were introduced to the main tasks, activities, and research outcomes of the scientists at the center. They also visited specialized equipment in the 3D digitization, kinematics, 3D printing, and 3D visualization laboratories at the center.
