UNITE

On July 2, 2025, Ms. Audrey Wu and Ms. Amy Shyu from Techman Robot Inc. – a Taiwanese technological giant and global leader in the production of collaborative industrial robots with artificial intelligence – visited University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”. They were accompanied by Mr. Toncho Tonchev from EHNATON Bulgaria Ltd., a company with nearly 30 years of experience in industrial automation solutions and the official representative of Techman Robot Inc. in Bulgaria.

Visit Overview:

The visit began with a specialized seminar held in Room 1.322 at University of Ruse. The event was attended by professors from the Departments of Telecommunications and Automation and Electronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Automation.

During the seminar:

  • Ms. Audrey Wu introduced Techman Robot Inc., including the company’s history, key activities, and some of its partners and clients.
  • The seminar continued with presentations by Ms. Amy Shyu, one of the technical experts at Techman Robot Inc., who presented the collaborative industrial robots with artificial intelligence developed by the company. She outlined the different types, features, and capabilities of these robots and discussed how they are integrated into industrial workflows in companies manufacturing vehicles, tires, electronic components, computer systems, food products, etc.

Following the presentations, discussions were held about the potential for future collaboration between University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”, Techman Robot Inc., and EHNATON Bulgaria Ltd..

Visit at the Research Complex:

The visit continued at the Research Complex, where the guests were introduced to the activities and results of the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project. The guests toured the laboratories:

  • NG 3.1.2 “Sustainable Transport Mobility”, led by Prof. Ivan Beloev from the Department of Transportation.
  • NG 3.1.3 “Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems and Technologies for Generating and Visualizing Spatial Objects and Processes”, led by Prof. Georgi Hristov from the Department of Telecommunications.

In these laboratories, the guests explored developments in:

  • Electric vehicles and hydrogen fuel cell-powered cars.
  • Robotic systems, drones, and autonomous systems for early wildfire detection.

The “Scientific University of Ruse” Project is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria under the contract BG-RRP-2.013-0001.

Visit to the Center of Excellence (CoE UNITe):

At the end of the visit, the guests visited the Center of Excellence (CoE UNITe) at University of Ruse. They toured the laboratories for:

  • 3D digitization
  • Kinematics
  • 3D printing
  • 3D visualization

They also learned about the primary activities and research objectives of the center. CoE UNITe was established within the framework of the BG16RFPR002-1.014-0004 UNITe Project, which is funded under the Program for Scientific Research, Innovations, and Digitization for Smart Transformation (PNIIDIT).
