UNITE

From October 15 to 19, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chayapol Kamyod and Asst. Prof. Dr. Roungsan Chaisricharoen, both faculty members of the Faculty of Information Technology at Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai, Thailand, visited University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”.

This visit was part of the Erasmus+ program and took place within the framework of a bilateral agreement between University of Ruse and Mae Fah Luang University. The collaboration between the two universities was initiated during the period 2020-2024 as part of the project 609854-EPP-1-2019-1-FR-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP ASEAN FACTORI 4.0, which was funded in 2019 through the Erasmus Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program of the European Union.

Visit Details:

  • Welcome Ceremony: The visitors were warmly welcomed by Assoc. Prof. Galina Ivanova, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at University of Ruse, who introduced them to the structure of the university and the main educational and research activities at the university. She also presented the concept of the university’s “Future Education Space”, an innovative educational environment at Alma Mater.
  • Center of Excellence UNITe Visit: The delegation continued their visit by touring the Center of Excellence UNITe (Project UNITe), which is part of Project BG16RFPR002-1.014-0004, funded by the “Scientific Research, Innovation, and Digitalization for Intelligent Transformation Program” 2021-2027, co-funded by the European Union. At the UNITe center, they were introduced to the primary tasks, activities, and research outcomes of the researchers at the center. The visitors also had the opportunity to explore specialized equipment in the center’s laboratories, including those focused on 3D digitization, kinematics, 3D printing, and 3D visualization.
  • Research Group 3.1.3 Presentation: Additionally, the visitors were briefed on the activities of Research Group 3.1.3 entitled “Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems and Technologies for the Generation and Visualization of Spatial Objects and Processes” led by Prof. Georgi Hristov from the Department of Telecommunications. This group is part of the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project, which is funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU program through Bulgaria’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan under Contract BG-RRP-2.013-0001.
