On October 3, 2025, at the invitation of the Department of Telecommunications at University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”, Prof. Branko Savić, Rector of the Higher Technical School of Applied Sciences in Novi Sad (VŠTS u Novom Sadu), Serbia, visited the university.
Visit Overview:
Prof. Savić participated in a seminar organized by the Research Group 3.1.3 “Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems and Technologies for Generating and Visualizing Spatial Objects and Processes” as part of the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project, led by Prof. Georgi Hristov from the Department of Telecommunications. The seminar focused on technology transfer in the fields of intelligent cyber-physical systems and 3D technologies.
During the seminar:
- Prof. Savić was introduced to the goals and objectives of the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project, which is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU, through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria, under contract BG-RRP-2.013-0001. He was also informed about the key activities and results of the Research Group 3.1.3.
Additionally, the BG16RFPR002-1.014-0004 project – the Center of Excellence “Universities for Science, Informatics, and Technology in the e-Society” (UNITe) was presented. This project is funded by the Program for Scientific Research, Innovations, and Digitization for Smart Transformation 2021-2027 and co-funded by the European Union. The seminar was hosted by this project.
Discussion and Future Collaboration:
After the presentations, a discussion was held during which the two sides discussed:
- The possibility of renewing the Erasmus+ bilateral agreement between University of Ruse and the Higher Technical School of Applied Sciences in Novi Sad.
- Erasmus+ mobility programs for faculty and students at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.
- The preparation of joint scientific and educational projects, publications, and the organization of scientific conferences involving faculty and researchers from both institutions.
Laboratory Tour:
Prof. Savić also visited the 3D digitization, kinematics, 3D printing, and 3D visualization laboratories at the Center of Excellence UNITe at University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”. He got acquainted with the research results of the scientists at the center.
