UNITE

On February 20, 2025, a specialized seminar on technology and knowledge transfer in the field of 3D technologies for digitization and visualization was held at the Center of Excellence UNITe (UNITe Project) at University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev”.

Event Details:

  • Organizers: The seminar was organized by the team of Research Group 3.1.3: “Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems and Technologies for Generating and Visualizing Spatial Objects and Processes” as part of the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project, which is funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of Bulgaria (contract BG-RRP-2.013-0001).

Participants:

  • The seminar was attended by museum specialists from the following institutions:
    • Regional Historical Museum – Ruse;
    • Regional Historical Museum – Razgrad;
    • Historical Museum – Isperih.
  • The lecturers at the seminar were:
    • Prof. Georgi Hristov;
    • Assoc. Prof. Diana Kinaneva;
    • Asst. Prof. Georgi Georgiev from the Department of Telecommunications.

Seminar Focus:

The participants gained knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Computer modeling and 3D modeling creation methods;
  • Digitization of objects using photogrammetry;
  • 3D scanning with laser scanners and structured light scanners;
  • Visualization of digital content through 3D printing, Virtual Reality (VR) systems, Augmented Reality (AR) solutions, and specialized internet platforms.

Post-Seminar Activities:

  • After the training, museum representatives had the opportunity to visit:
    1. The “3D Makerspace” laboratory at the Department of Telecommunications, focused on additive technologies (3D printing).
    2. The Research Complex at the university, where they visited the laboratory of Research Group 3.1.3 on Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems and Technologies for Generating and Visualizing Spatial Objects and Processes, which is part of the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project.
