Between December 8 and 13, 2025, the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” welcomed Khonesavanh Norasane and Sabannga Sackbouavong, lecturers at the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at Savannakhet University, Savannakhet, Lao People’s Democratic Republic (LPDR).
The main purpose of the visit of the teachers from Laos at the University of Ruse was their participation in training in the field of information and communication technologies. Prof. Georgi Hristov and Senior Assistant Professor Dr. Diyana Kinaneva from the Department of Telecommunications presented to the guests the latest 3D technologies for digitization and visualization of objects and the modern equipment of University of Ruse for training and conducting research in this field. At the end of the training, Prof. Hristov and Dr. Kinaneva demonstrated to Khonesavanh Norasane and Sabannga Sackbouavong how to create a high-quality 3D model of the human body, which can then be printed on a 3D printer. The guests expressed their desire to be volunteer models in the process and received their own 3D printed figurine as a souvenir.
During their visit to Ruse, the guests from Laos also participated in an international seminar on technology transfer, which took place on December 10, 2025, in the conference hall of the CoE UNITe. Afterwards, they had the opportunity to learn about the main tasks, activities, and results of the research conducted by the scientists at the center, as well as to examine the specialized equipment in the laboratories for 3D digitization, kinematics, 3D printing, and 3D visualization.
