From September 17 to 18, 2025, the fourth partner meeting of the “Digital Twin on Smart Manufacturing” project took place in Ruse. The project is funded by the Erasmus+ program under contract 101140156 – ERASMUS-EDU-2023-PI-ALL-INNO.
Key Participants and Partners:
- Ruse Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) is the Bulgarian partner in the project.
- University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” serves as an associated partner and beneficiary of the planned activities.
Event Overview:
- On September 18, 2025, representatives from 10 partner organizations from Italy, Spain, Sweden, Greece, and Bulgaria participated in the meeting, which was held at University of Ruse. The guests were warmly welcomed by the university’s academic leadership.
- During their visit, the partners had the opportunity to visit the university’s facilities, including several classrooms and laboratories, and to learn about the “Future Education Space” concept.
Visit to the Research Complex:
- The participants also visited the Research Complex at University of Ruse, which was built as part of the “Scientific University of Ruse” Project. This project is funded by the European Union’s NextGenerationEU program, under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan of Bulgaria (contract BG-RRP-2.013-0001-C01).
- During the tour, they visited two key laboratories:
- NG 3.1.2 “Sustainable Transport Mobility”, led by Prof. Ivan Beloev from the Department of Transport.
- NG 3.1.3 “Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems and Technologies for Generating and Visualizing Spatial Objects and Processes”, led by Prof. Georgi Hristov from the Department of Telecommunications.
In both laboratories, the guests had the chance to explore electric vehicles, hydrogen fuel cell cars, robotic systems, drones, and remote monitoring systems.
Final Part of the Visit:
- The final segment of the visit was dedicated to the Center of Excellence UNITe (Project UNITe), which was built as part of project BG16RFPR002-1.014-0004, funded by the Scientific Research, Innovation, and Digitalization for Intelligent Transformation Program 2021-2027, with co-funding from the European Union.
- At the UNITe Center, Assoc. Prof. Ventsislav Keseev from the Department of Telecommunications presented the center’s main tasks, activities, and research outcomes. The guests then toured the laboratories focused on 3D digitization, kinematics, 3D printing, and 3D visualization.
